History:
Born in 840 after the battle in which the Raven flag was captured, Gunnar was the only son born to his parents, his mother died the very winter he was born. His father, Skeld, raised his son alone in the ways of a true viking warrior. He stood on the decks of the longships as soon as he could walk, and was trained in battle as soon as he could grasp a weapon.
His father doted on him, in his own way. When he was old enough, he accompanied the men seaward from port to port and began raiding with them. He was eighteen when his father was killed in battle. He went on to raid and war with his companions until he met a woman who, enamored with the boisterous viking, ended up bedding and then turning him.
Enraged, he attempted to kill her but was of course, thwarted. She was far his superior. Vowing silently one day to destroy her, he remained in her company and learned until he was ultimately too strong to be trusted. Wisely, his sire disappeared one evening.
Searching all of Norway for her, she was nowhere to be found. He would have to still his rage and simply bide his time. In the meantime, his need for the sea and water travels could not be quelled and he has always had something to do with ships. He also has a great love for weapons and combat.
He has since stepped into the modern age, and owns a shipping company. It was one way to keep his love of the water and ships alive, despite the fact that times had changed so much. Though he doesnt care much for modern technology, he has resigned himself to using it and now enjoys the luxuries his very profitable company provides. He still keeps an eye out for the woman who turned him.
